What the other apps cost

Babbel, Rosetta Stone and Pimsleur are sold mostly as subscriptions, so the usual way to keep the language is to keep paying for it. This is $39, once. Nothing renews, and the files are yours to keep even if this site disappears.

One cost that isn't mine

The decks open in Anki, which is free on desktop and Android and a one-time paid app on iPhone and iPad — that's Anki's price, not mine, so check the App Store for today's. You don't need it to start: the web player is free and needs nothing installed.
